Ron King is a music and business veteran from El Paso, Texas and recently relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in late 2013.
My overall background stems from my primary preference and passion of playing drums ranging from straight forward Rock to C/W, Funk, Pop, Reggae and Swing. During my years in the Southwest, I built my former business (Gemini Productions) into a reputable marketing and entertainment agency designed primarily to promote live entertainment on a local level as well as handling contractual and logistical requirements for National/Grammy caliber artists. As an audio engineer, I have considerable experience including mixing front of house unplugged shows for numerous Top 40 recording artists.
The following audio file is a sample of Ron King playing drums in a live environment with Netwerk, one of the finest group of musicians I have had the pleasure of playing with.
During this time in my playing career, prior to shows I would sound check the band with a drum machine and mix shows onstage with the console off to the side of my high hats, basic L/R out of mixer. This proved extremely beneficial in terms of honing my ears to room acoustic conditions.
Patrick Kell is a young musician I had the good fortune to record in my El Paso based recording studio, Source Sound. I engineered, co produced and played an occasional track…personally I’m diggin’ the old school authentic rootsy thang!
CURRENT EN DEVOURS
Since arriving in Nashville, I have been sub contracting as an Audio/Video tech for numerous companies such as Convention Production Rigging, Tressia Grant, Orlando Productions and others. Additionally, I have established RKHI, a home repair and improvement business.
My current project is to combine my audio background with light construction, hence, design and build high end listening environments for a variety of applications ranging from room acoustic treatment solutions to AV installations in high end home theaters systems and various commercial environments.
This gallery shows some of the interior construction process of my El Paso based home recording studio that I constructed in the late 2000′s. I personally hand built this structure over a three year period and designed/built the interior acoustic treatment applications.
This gallery shows phases of the exterior structure during construction.
