Solid 1" Oak Shelf
This particular batch is re purposed from a century old Tobacco curing barn built near Nashville, Tennessee. Each piece is 7/8" - 1" hard wood SOLID OAK. The interior side of the wood features a beautiful array of light/dark brown highlights and intriguing grain patterns, a result specific to the tobacco curing process over many decades. The exterior side of the wood shows years of weathering, mineral streaking and seasoning due to being outdoors in the elements. Availability of authentic reclaimed oak barn wood with board depths more than 10.5 inches is extremely rare. Pieces over 12" depth are virtually unheard of and an extraordinary feature of this series, a perfect match for the shopper looking to cut against the grain.
Weathered Grey Shelf
Weathered grey siding is a very popular product that is generally more difficult to locate than your average brown boards. Our grey board was sourced from an early 1900's barn built in southern Kentucky. The age does show in its unique characteristics, patinas and varying color patterns.
2" Brown Shelf or Mantel
Our 2" boards are sourced from various barns in middle Tennessee. Two inch thick boards were generally used for rafter support or various joists. All of these boards are hard wood which is common in Tennessee. Wayy back in the day, it was common for farmers to source trees from their land then mill and build. Times have changed!
